Puerto Rican reggaeton star Don Omar has postponed three concerts on his The Last King World Tour in the United States after a severe respiratory infection failed to improve as expected, forcing him to remain on doctor-ordered rest, including absolute vocal rest.
The affected dates are October 29 at the Toyota Arena in Ontario, California; October 30 at the Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada; and Sunday, November 1, at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
"My health has not improved as I expected"
Don Omar announced the postponements himself on social media. "Mi salud no ha mejorado como esperaba. Siguiendo las recomendaciones de mi médico, debo continuar en reposo" — "My health has not improved as I expected. Following my doctor's recommendations, I must continue resting," he wrote, apologizing to fans who had bought tickets, booked trips and waited for the shows.
The first postponement, Ontario, was announced on October 29, when his team said the severe respiratory infection required absolute vocal rest. On Friday, October 30, the artist confirmed that he still could not perform in Las Vegas and that the Salt Lake City show on November 1 would also have to be postponed.
Tickets remain valid, and three November dates are still on the calendar
His team is already working to reschedule the three shows, and tickets already purchased will remain valid for the new dates, which have not yet been announced. No further postponements have been announced for now.
Still on the tour calendar are November 5 at the SAP Center in San José, California; November 6 at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California; and November 8 at the Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Whether Don Omar can make those dates will depend on how his recovery progresses in the coming days.
